Match Recap

Nearing the end of summer, at a beautiful setting at Pinehurst Country Club, the Red Team pulled out a 3-2 victory in the final match of the inaugural Denver Pro League Season.

Thank you to Ian Ayler, Leslie, and Chris Mease for hosting us at a beautiful setting (and weather was perfect too). The members were treated to some great tennis.

The ladies had a great match with the blue team of Jessika Mozia and Pinehurst Teaching Pro, Alana Smith (sister of last week's MVP, Bart Scott) d. Leslie Mease and Nell Boyd 7-6, 6-4.

Damon has been working hard on his tennis game for the Colorado State Open, loves a good crowd to show off his hard work, taking down Zach Fryer 7-5, 6-3.

Chris Anderson, who kills with compliments and on the scoreboard, partnered with Dietz for a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Ian Ayler and Noah Tondre.

In a winning league debut, Tommy Koszowski, and Bryan Knepper showed where the league level was d. Jerad Harbaugh and Patrick Ross 6-2, 6-4.

It may not have been the last match on, but since it was the closest (and went my way), I'm calling this one the clinching-season-ending match: Lew and I defeated Rok Bonin and Justin Abrams 3-6, 6-3, 10-8 in a high quality match that could have gone either way.  Lew was able to get in the right mindset on his ride over from Park Hill and was nails all match long.

Thank you to Dietz for organizing and providing an outlet for some great competitive tennis this summer.  9 clubs hosted our matches with 41 individual singles and doubles matches, and more than 45 individual players with the League!  I certainly enjoyed the 9 league level matches I played in!
